Lynne Blecher
Lynne has had experience in many sectors in the pet industry. From managing a reptile shop The Snake Pit, at 14, to being the one of the youngest Specialty Managers for Petsmart on the east coast at 19, to being the Chief Operations Officer of Unleashed Dog Daycare. Outside of regular employment, she owns and operates two businesses, The Fish Maid, an aquarium and pond building and maintenance company and Lynne's Pet Sitting, a vacation pet sitting service, both in operation for seven and four years respectively. Lynne has eleven years experience in pet industry to date. She keeps up with her knowledge through books, conferences, trade shows and media.
Lynne has been a pet parent or a foster parent to many animals throughout the years. Dogs (Irish Wolfhound mix fostered, hound mix, adopted), cats (6 different strays that she took in 3 adopted, 3 fostered), birds 9 different abandoned birds 7 fostered, 2 adopted), fish (all but two adopted in a 150 gallon), pond fish (at her father’s home), mice (adopted, not for food!), rats (adopted, not for food!), snakes (rescued), lizards (4 rescued), frogs (many, all bought, she could not find a shelter for frogs!), sugar gliders (fostered), guinea pigs (adopted). All of these animals over many years of pet keeping from childhood from now. She is a believer in adopting animals as much as possible.
Lynne currently is a mom to Bruce a hound mix and Moose an African Grey Parrot. She has a large 150 gallon fish tank and a small ten gallon at work. |
